Nurturing Children,
Building Communities.
Supporting orphaned and vulnerable children in Khayelitsha through education, care and community empowerment.
Rooted in Community Since 2008
Siyakhathala was formed in 2008 and registered as a Non-Profit Organisation in May 2009. The organisation officially opened its office in 2010 and is based at Kuyasa Primary School in Khayelitsha.
Established as a response to the increasing number of orphaned children due to the HIV/AIDS and TB pandemic, as well as rising levels of sexual, physical and emotional abuse of children.
Siyakhathala recruits staff and volunteers from unemployed youth, people with disabilities and adults within the community to help build a self-sustainable community.
